What’s this post about?

After releasing the RTM version of Internet Explorer 10 many users reported problems when browsing sites with IE10 that are based on SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010. There have been Silverlight and Scripting error messages. The cause of these problems is not IE10 (as you might suspect). SharePoint is based on ASP.NET Version 2.0 - and this version has a problem with detecting the new IE10.

The solution is easy: A hotfix is available for the ASP.NET browser definition files in the .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and in the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
